This is an excellent opportunity to join my client, a highly regarded, innovative Multidisciplinary Consultancy, dedicated to broadening their geographical reach by establishing a brand-new office location in Scotland. Renowned for lending their expertise to a diverse range of projects across the landscape architecture, planning, and civil engineering fields, they are currently searching for an enthusiastic, talented Senior Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of infrastructure design who is willing to take on an array of challenging projects. You will be working alongside a newly established team of infrastructure design professionals, based near the picturesque, family-friendly city of Dunfermline.

Responsibilities for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:

  • Working to design a range of projects and developments
  • Overseeing the day-to-day running of engineering projects, from inception through to completion
  • Mentoring and supporting colleagues
  • Liaising with clients and other stakeholders across the public and private sectors
  • Preparing and checking technical documents, such as reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, risk assessments, method statements, etc.
  • Adhering to company policies, procedures, and best practice, upholding the appropriate health and safety standards at all times
  • Acting as a company representative at client meetings, site visits, and other events

Required skills and experience for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:

  • A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • Hold Chartered Status with a recognized professional body (e.g., ICE)
  • Experience of working in a design role, within a UK-based consultancy setting
  • Considerable experience of working on infrastructure (highways and drainage), housing developments, and energy projects
  • Experience of earthworks and drainage network modelling
  • Proficient in the use of various software packages (to include Civils 3D, Micro Drainage, AutoCAD, and others)
  • Considerable experience of writing and checking a variety of technical documents
  • Demonstrable experience of client and stakeholder liaison
  • Excellent organization, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Desirable skills and experience for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:

  • A master’s degree in civil engineering
  • Experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments
  • Experience of preparing Transport Assessments
  • Experience of leading projects/teams
  • Experience of working in a public-facing role
  • Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
