Your tasks

The Mechanical Engineering Co-op will assist with engineering projects in a manufacturing environment, gaining hands-on experience in product design, process improvement, and equipment maintenance. This role will involve working closely with experienced engineers to support ongoing operations, implement improvements, and ensure product quality. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in mechanical systems, problem-solving, and applying classroom knowledge to real-world challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the design, testing, and evaluation of mechanical components and systems.

Develop and build prototype fixtures/tooling, leading to implemented production solutions.

Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production equipment issues.

Work with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing processes and product performance.

Assist in developing and updating engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.

Participate in equipment installation, calibration, and preventive maintenance activities.

Collect and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement.

Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Prepare reports, presentations, and technical documentation for project updates.

Your profile

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Min. 2.5 GPA

Hands-on attitude

Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong analytical and communication skills.

Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and tools is a plus.

Self-motivated to finish tasks in a timely manner.
