We are seeking an experienced Structural Team Lead to lead a structural engineering team to support the New Zealand structures team, including technical delivery, growing and strengthening team capability, and driving client outcomes, based in Cebu, Philippines. This role offers a unique blend of global collaboration, technical leadership, team management, and client engagement within a globally connected, well-established consultancy.

You will work closely with the Business Group Leaders and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across New Zealand and Philippines. The role includes responsibility for leading the local team, overseeing project delivery, and contributing actively to business development initiatives.

The Role:

Grow the amount of collaboration undertaken within the structures group between the Philippines and New Zealand teams.

Lead and manage a team of Structural Engineers, including responsibility for performance, development, and resource planning.

Drive high-quality structural design across a diverse range of structural projects.

Oversee project delivery as Project Manager or Project Director where required, ensuring timelines, quality benchmarks, and commercial targets are met.

Work collaboratively with internal and external design disciplines, including architecture, civil, geotechnical, and building services to deliver coordinated, client-focused solutions.

Develop and maintain strong business relationships with the New Zealand structural team to help secure new and repeat work.

Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers in the Philippines and New Zealand and facilitate collaboration with other regional teams.

Support the Business Group Leader in advancing the Structures business plan and contributing to broader sector goals.

About You:

A Structural Engineering graduate

10 to 15 years of relevant experience in structural engineering, ideally within a consultancy environment

Strong exposure to seismic design, with a preference for candidates familiar with New Zealand codes and regulatory standards, or with comparable international experience in high seismic regions.

Familiarity with both public and private sector development requirements is highly desirable

Proven delivery across a variety of building types and structural materials, particularly within the NZ consultancy environment

Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams in a collaborative, supportive setting

Strong skills in translating global business objectives into local team execution

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted client relationships and identify future opportunities

Fluent in English, both spoken and written

Able to clearly and efficiently transfer technical and project information across international teams

Driven, ambitious, and proactive, with a passion for building and growing a local team

Expatriates may also be considered for the role

While the position is primarily based in Cebu, relocation to Manila may be considered for the right applicant.
