Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead and manage geotechnical investigations, design, and analysis for a variety of infrastructure and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of delivering innovative and cost-effective geotechnical solutions. This role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring the successful execution of projects.

  • Plan, supervise, and interpret geotechnical site investigations, including soil and rock sampling, in-situ testing, and laboratory testing.

  • Conduct advanced geotechnical analyses, including slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, and soil-structure interaction.

  • Evaluate subsurface conditions and provide recommendations for foundation design, ground improvement, and earthworks.

  • Develop geotechnical designs for foundations, retaining walls, embankments, tunnels, and other infrastructure components.

  • Provide recommendations for excavation, dewatering, and ground stabilization techniques.

  • Prepare geotechnical reports, drawings, and specifications in compliance with relevant codes and standards.

  • Lead and manage geotechnical aspects of projects from inception to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutions.

  • Prepare technical proposals, cost estimates, and project schedules.

  • Provide on-site technical support during construction, including monitoring and troubleshooting geotechnical issues.

  • Review contractor submittals, including method statements, material specifications, and quality assurance plans.

  • Identify geotechnical risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project safety and sustainability.

  • Conduct seismic hazard assessments and evaluate liquefaction potential for projects in seismic zones.

  • Communicate complex geotechnical concepts and findings to clients, regulatory authorities, and project stakeholders.

  • Represent the organization in technical meetings, workshops, and conferences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or Geotechnical Engineering (master's degree preferred)

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent is preferred but not a must

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering

  • Advanced knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and practices

  • Proficiency in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, and Rocscience

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills

  • Project management experience

  • Experience with complex geotechnical projects, including deep foundations, tunneling, and slope stability

  • Familiarity with local and international geotechnical codes and standards

  • Knowledge of construction methods and materials related to geotechnical engineering

  • Familiarity with Singapore's geological conditions and building codes

  • Ability to work efficiently and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
