Who are we looking for?
Due to strong business and growth opportunities within the renewable energy sector, we are seeking an accomplished and passionate Senior Electrical Engineer - Renewables to join our high-performing, collaborative, and enthusiastic team in Victoria. This role is pivotal in managing and delivering engineering projects related to renewable energy, including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), wind and solar facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge and have a proactive approach to client relationships. They will also play a significant role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of our renewable energy projects.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
Collaborating with project teams to design and engineer renewable power facilities, including battery energy storage systems and balance of plant design for renewable generation.
Developing specifications and scope of work documents and preparing detailed engineering design reports.
Performing feasibility studies for integrating renewable energy sources, energy storage, and other emerging technologies into transmission and distribution networks.
Providing technical support to project managers and clients, addressing technical inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring project objectives are met.
Creating drawing packages in conjunction with the drafting team for renewable generation balance of plant design.
Conducting field visits and inspections to assess distribution infrastructure conditions and identify potential improvements.
What would you bring to the team?
A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or a related field.
5-10 years of relevant experience, preferably in a consulting, development or power utility environment.
A sound understanding of industry codes and standards related to power, such as AS2067 and AS/NZS 3000.
Experience in any related power design field, including building services, mining, LV or MV design, with HV Substations experience being well regarded.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of presenting technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
A proactive approach to building client relationships through listening, responsiveness, and effective communication.
Project management and bid management experience
