This is an excellent opportunity to join my client, a highly regarded, eco-conscious Multidisciplinary Consultancy, dedicated to broadening their geographical reach by establishing a brand-new office location in stunning Scotland. Known for lending their expertise to a diverse range of high-profile projects across the landscape architecture, planning, and civil engineering fields, they are currently searching for a talented, enthusiastic Senior Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of infrastructure design, who is willing to take on a diverse array of challenging new projects. You will be working alongside a newly established team of design experts, based in the picturesque, multicultural Scottish Capital City of Edinburgh.

Responsibilities for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:

• Contributing to the design of a range of infrastructure projects and developments
• Leading the day-to-day running of various projects, from inception through to successful delivery
• Mentoring and supporting colleagues
• Liaising with clients and other stakeholders
• Preparing and checking technical documents, including reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, etc.
• Adhering to company policies, procedures, and best practice, ensuring you uphold the appropriate health and safety standards at all times
• Acting as a company representative at client meetings, site visits, and other events

Required skills and experience for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:

• A UK Bachelor’s (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering
• Possess Chartered Status with a recognised professional body (e.g., ICE)
• Experience of working in a design-based role, within a UK-based consultancy or Local Authority setting
• Considerable experience of working on infrastructure (namely highways and drainage), housing developments, and energy projects
• Experience of earthworks and drainage network modelling
• Proficient in the use of various software systems (to include Civils 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, and similar)
• Demonstrable experience of writing and checking a variety of technical documents
• Experience of liaising with clients and stakeholders within the industry
• Outstanding organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Desirable skills and experience for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:

• A Higher Degree (in a cognate discipline)
• Experience of preparing Flood Risk Assessments and/or Transport Assessments
• Experience of leading both people and projects
• Experience of working in a public-facing role
• Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
