What you’ll be doing:

Responsible for delivering an achievable manufacturing engineering solution, through Design for Manufacture, lean manufacturing implementation and assembly analysis, to ensure the product can be manufactured to the specification requirements

Achieve the design intent: Control of critical manufacturing processes and implementation process improvement and reconciling the design to build is achievable in an efficient way to achieve the cost parameters

Delivery of efficient processes that improve the cost, schedule and quality commitments

Preparation and management of a strategy for the manufacturing engineering discipline that satisfies the current and emerging needs of the projects to improve effectiveness, with a strong focus on technology and a digital strategy

Management of the overall framework for the development of the discipline’s staff and professional standards

Governance and Quality Control of the application of discipline’s process and people across the projects

Appointment of Engineering Professional Leads within each project team and subsequent networking through to each member of the discipline

Your skills and experiences:

Thorough and comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of Manufacturing Engineering disciplines, processes, toolsets, procedures, standards and technologies

Broad knowledge of Manufacturing operations, including quality management, facility management, supplier management, research and development, production operations and logistics planning and control

In-depth knowledge of a matrix organization, programme, cross functional business

Experienced leader within one or multiple sectors

Successful delivery in a Programme Delivery or Engineering/Manufacturing functional role on a major programme

Educated to degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline with demonstrable experience in a manufacturing and engineering business environment

Member of a recognised professional Engineering institute is desirable

As the Head of Manufacturing Engineering you will design, implement and embed a Manufacturing Engineering Function within a Line of Business which: enables the manufacture of new or an updated product to meet the design intent, cost, schedule and quality commitments in the most effective, efficient & economic way possible.
