Pennoni is seeking a Graduate Environmental Engineer to contribute to our EHS (Environmental, Health, & Safety) projects on a full-time, direct basis while based in the Natick, MA area. The role focuses on assisting compliance with environmental regulations for a variety of industries.

Primary Responsibilities:

Conduct engineering evaluations of chemical process operations for environmental regulatory compliance, process safety, and pollution prevention.  This includes material and energy balance calculations, review of chemical hazards, process controls, and emergency preparedness.

Drafting of facility layout plans, process flow diagrams, and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.

Prepare draft reports and assist with completing regulatory forms.

Preparation of conceptual designs and cost estimation for feasibility for process changes, pollution prevention and pollution control systems.

Contingency planning for prevention and mitigation of chemical releases.

Support planning and execution of field investigations by logging borings, collecting samples with a variety of sampling (e.g.:  soil, groundwater, stormwater, wastewater, soil gas, indoor air, stack gases, industrial wastes, etc.), performing field screening tests, and collecting / recording data and data quality review.

Prepare field reports for projects to document work completed.

Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.

Basic Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree in chemical or environmental engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

PE or EIT certification is a plus

Completion of OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training is a plus

Previous experience working with an engineering or environmental consulting firm is a plus

Proficiency on all standard Microsoft Office software applications

Strong analytical skills

Strong attention to detail skills with the proven ability to work with a high level of accuracy

Proven ability to work independently in a team environment with minimal supervision

Proven ability to work in a self-motivated manner while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments

Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
