GHD are seeking a dedicated and innovative Environmental Scientist/Engineer to join our dynamic team in Fiji.

You will play a key role in assisting with Environmental Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs), including Ecology and Climate Change assessments. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure environmentally sustainable outcomes, support biodiversity conservation, and develop climate adaptation strategies using nature-based solutions.

The role:

Prepare and support high-quality ESIAs under supervision, ensuring compliance with national and international standards (e.g., IFC Performance Standards).

Engage with stakeholders, including community groups, government agencies, and development partners.

Contribute to environmental monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of project impacts.

Support the integration of ecological and climate considerations into infrastructure and urban development projects.

Assist in designing field sampling methodologies and conducting environmental investigations.

Stay updated on relevant legislation, standards, and emerging environmental practices.

About you:

Tertiary degree in Sciences (Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences or Climate Change) or similar related disciplines with at least 3 years professional experience. 

Strong understanding of Pacific ecosystems, governance, and development challenges.

Excellent scientific writing, data analysis, and communication skills.

Experience working collaboratively across disciplines and with diverse stakeholders.

Knowledge of Pacific social and cultural contexts, including gender and social inclusion frameworks, is a plus.

Proven ability to manage tasks, prioritize effectively, and demonstrate sound judgement.
