Within our Parts & Services Division (part of Business Area Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions), our mission is to keep our equipment running at its full potential. We are responsible for the aftermarket business worldwide, developing tailored offerings and services to support our customers throughout the equipment lifecycle and deliver competitive and consistent service for Sandvik equipment. Our customer base ranges from large multinational mining and infrastructure companies and contractors to small and medium-sized enterprises, all of whom rely on our equipment.
We are now looking for Electrical Engineers to our Engineering Support team in Tampere and Turku, Finland. The Electrical Engineer will focus on developing and executing technical proposals for custom engineering work on Sandvik equipment to align with equipment specifications and design. You will contribute to the department's results by sharing best practices and designing safe and robust electrical systems. You will also create all relevant documentation related to electrical systems and interact with key stakeholders. The Electrical Engineer at Tampere site will focus on surface and underground drilling equipment and at Turku site on Loading and Hauling equipment.
About the job
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing safe and robust electrical systems in accordance with relevant laws and standards. You will produce electrical dimensioning and calculations, make component selections, and create and update all relevant electrical documentation, including product structures and Bill-of-Materials. Additionally, you will produce material for internal training and documentation, support manufacturing and sub-contractors, and work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure customer requirements are met.
In this role, you will be expected to produce workload estimations and deliver results within the given timeframe. You will ensure that all design work meets quality, supply, and serviceability requirements, and share your skills and best practices with colleagues. Upholding professional skills and attending Technical Clarification meetings with service and engineering teams to clarify technical requirements and issues will also be part of your responsibilities. You can express your solutions and ideas to external and internal stake holders in English. Finnish language is seen as an advantage. In this role international travelling will take place occasionally.
About experience
Experience from low-voltage systems, battery electric vehicles, power electronics, heavy machinery, mobile equipment and mining are highly valued.
Understanding hydraulics, mechanics and control systems is seen as an advantage.
Few years of experience in the design of electrics in LV electrical switchgear (mining equipment preferred).
Few years of experience in the design of electrics in control systems (mining equipment preferred).
Proven ability of knowledge-sharing (e.g., training, coaching, networking).
Experience in one or more of the following: diesel engine installations, harsh environments, material technology, power train analyses, hydraulics, mechanics.
Proficient with engineering design tools.
Adequate IT skills (Office tools and R&D software).
Ability to work in a complex working environment.
About education, licenses and diplomas
Bachelor of Science or higher degree level (or equivalent) in an Engineering related discipline.
Adequate certificates and work history to enable independent electrical installation work.
