Job Purpose:

The CAD Draughtsman will be responsible for producing detailed technical drawings and layouts for electrical substation projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and specifications. The role requires expertise in CAD software to create and modify designs related to equipment layouts, cable routing, earthing, and other critical electrical components for substations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Preparation of Equipment Layouts: Create detailed layouts for equipment placement in substations.
• Preparation of Single Line Diagrams: Develop single line diagrams for electrical systems as per the required standards.
• Cable Tray Routing Layouts: Design cable tray routing layouts, ensuring optimal routing paths and compliance with standards.
• Earthing & Lightning Protection Layouts: Prepare earthing and lightning protection layouts, including power and lighting layouts for substations, ensuring compliance with Transco/ADDC/AADC/DEWA/FEWA standards.
• As-Built Drawings: Prepare accurate as-built drawings reflecting the final installation of equipment and systems.
• Installation Details: Create detailed installation drawings for earthing systems and cable tray installations.
• Quantity Take-Offs: Conduct quantity take-offs for materials including cable, cable trays, and earthing & lightning protection systems.
• Material Submittals: Prepare material submittals for cable trays and earthing & lightning protection materials in line with project specifications.
• MEP Coordination Layouts: Prepare MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) coordination layouts, floor and slab opening details, and sleeve details for the efficient installation of systems.
• HV Cable Route Layouts: Design detailed HV (High Voltage) cable route layouts for substations, ensuring proper clearance and routing for high voltage systems.

Qualifications & Skills:
• Proven experience as a CAD Draughtsman in the electrical engineering or construction industry.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD.) and knowledge of electrical design.
• Strong understanding of electrical substation layouts and standards (Transco/ADDC/AADC/DEWA/FEWA).
• Good knowledge of electrical systems, including earthing and lightning protection.
• Ability to interpret technical documents and project specifications.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant field.
• Certification in AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
• Familiarity with MEP coordination and construction drawings.

Experience:
• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in drafting and design in electrical substation projects.
