We are looking for System Engineer - Signaling Services

The System Engineer - Signalling Services is responsible for supporting local and global service bids, maintenance contracts, and project execution activities related to railway signalling systems

The position demands strong system level technical expertise in various modern metro signaling technologies like CBTC / ETCS / IxL, etc and a thorough understanding of Railway technical requirements / system requirement specifications.

The role involves maintenance engineering, system analysis, technical bid preparation, lifecycle support, cost estimation, documentation, and coordination with cross-functional teams to deliver competitive and compliant signalling service solutions.

The system engineer will contribute to preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance strategies while ensuring adherence to customer requirements, railway standards, safety regulations, and company processes.

You’ll make a difference by

  • Conduct technical discussions with all stakeholders.
  • Act as a problem solver while ensuring compliance with applicable railway standards and project requirements.
  • Act as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for signaling  service system engineering, ensuring clear communication and alignment with stakeholders.

Bid & Tender Support

  • Analyze customer requirements, technical specifications, and tender documents.
  • Support preparation of technical service proposals for signaling maintenance and service contracts.
  • Develop maintenance concepts, staffing models, maintenance plans, and service strategies.
  • Estimate service workload, spare parts requirements, tools, and asset lifecycle costs.
  • Support cost calculations, risk assessments, and bid reviews.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, finance, operations, and commercial teams during bid preparation.
  • Support technical clarifications and customer queries during tender phases.

Project Support

  • Support execution of signaling service and maintenance projects.
  • Review signaling system architecture and maintenance requirements.
  • Prepare maintenance documentation, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Monitor project deliverables, milestones, and technical compliance.
  • Support system modifications, upgrades, migrations, and obsolescence management activities.
  • Participate in site support activities when required.

Maintenance Engineering

  • Develop preventive and corrective maintenance plans.
  • Analyze failures, incidents, and system performance data.
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) and reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Define spare parts strategies and lifecycle support plans.
  • Contribute to RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety) calculations / demonstrations
  • Support maintenance optimization and asset management initiatives.

Technical Documentation

  • Prepare technical reports, maintenance plans, maintenance manuals, method statements, and service documentation.
  • Maintain configuration and technical records.
  • Ensure documentation compliance with customer and organizational standards.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

·  Interface with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

·  Participate in bid meetings, technical review meetings and project discussions.

·  Support customer presentations and technical workshops.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

·  Ensure compliance with tender requirements, railway signalling standards and safety requirements.

·  Support quality audits and process improvement initiatives.

·  Follow company EHS and quality management procedures.


System knowledge on below key subsystems is required

·  Interlocking Systems (Electronic/Computer Based Interlocking)

·  Track circuits, Axle counters, Point machines, Level crossing systems

·  Signals and route control systems

·  Centralized Traffic Control (CTC)

·  Automatic Train Protection (ATP) systems

·  Onboard and Wayside signaling equipment

·  Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC)

·  ETCS Level 2 system

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Electronics or Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
  • 8-10 years of experience in railway signalling systems, maintenance engineering, service engineering, or signalling projects.
  • Experience in maintenance and service bid preparation is required.
  • Exposure to metro, mainline, or urban rail signalling projects is required.
  • Experience working in multicultural and global project environments is an advantage.
