We are seeking a System Engineer Medium Voltage Supply (f/m/d) for our Salzgitter location as soon as possible. This position is available on a full-time basis.

Your role at Alstom - What you can achieve with us


2,000 colleagues in Salzgitter work daily on climate-friendly mobility. They develop and manufacture hydrogen and electric multiple units, locomotives, and trams, manufacture bogies, and repair all types of freight cars. The Corporate Functions play a key role in supporting and continuously expanding the performance of our sites. In this role, you will report to Julian Rathmann and work in a motivated and dedicated team.

Your tasks:


• Creation and modification of technical documents (e.g. requirement and architecture specifications) to describe mechatronic functions, subsystems or software of rail vehicles
• Design and analysis of system architectures and interfaces taking into account the functional safety requirements
• Support and assurance of the overall function at train level
• Creation of technical specifications taking into account customer requirements
• Participation in the creation of impact analyses in the event of changes
• Consolidation of Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA) with the RAMS engineer
• Support of commissioning and type test activities
• Conducting failure analyses and assessments
• Change and configuration management
• Communication with suppliers and specialist departments (interface management between mechanical and electrical components and between the main functions of the vehicle)

Your profile - What makes you suitable for the job

• Successfully completed engineering studies with a focus on rail vehicle technology, electrical engineering, or a comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience, preferably in the rail vehicle industry
• Experience in the development or maintenance of rail vehicles
• Good knowledge of systems and requirements engineering
• In-depth knowledge of project management and planning
• Confident use of MS Office programs
