Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be a part of the bridge design team, based in the New Orleans, LA office and have the opportunity to work on the bridge/transportation.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

Representing exp in client interactions by performing at a ‘responsible charge’ level

Prepares engineering analysis, design, and calculations for a portion or all of a project

Assist in the structural analysis and preparation of design calculations 

Develop or assist in developing structural details and construction plans

Assist with design of steel, concrete, masonry and wood structures

Effectively coordinate with other disciplines in project development 

Conduct inspections and assist in supervision of site investigations 

Participate in construction site meetings

Conduct site visits during construction to review work for general compliance to structural drawings and contract documents

What your experience looks like

Degree in Structural Engineering from a recognized university, MS degree is not required but considered as an asset

3+ years’ experience in structural engineering with a focus on concrete and steel design for transportation structures (bridges, retaining walls, miscellaneous structures)

Experience with AutoCAD or Microstation software preferred

Proficiency with Excel and/or Mathcad is preferred 

LaDOTD experience and client relationships preferred

Experience with proposals and business development activities. 

Ability to work on several projects concurrently

Strong sense of urgency and self- initiative to meet client deadlines

PE Preferred but open to EIT experience working towards PE

Commitment and dedication to client service as well as technical excellence

Demonstrated and effective communication skills and the ability to handle changing needs while working effectively with diverse groups

Strategic thinker with the ability to determine what work is required and draw rational conclusions from all available information
