Software Engineer II

The Software Engineer II builds and supports software solutions for some of the world's largest retailers. The Software Engineer will implement a medium or multiple small software solutions with significant architectural guidance. The software development process requires understanding and using our continuous build, automated test, and deployment platform. The Software Engineer will collaborate, as required, with internal teams to facilitate development/test. The incumbent will excel in our fast-paced, collaborative, customer-first environment and will contribute to a variety of ways. You'll be working alongside other experienced engineers and developers, collaborating on the various layers of the infrastructure for our platform.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the requirements, design, development, and test/debug client code using Java, Microservices, Spring Boot, HTML, CSS and Vue JavaScript
  • Resolving Unit, Functional and field defects
  • Resolves typical technical challenges requiring a moderate to complex scope of domain and discipline knowledge.
  • Interfaces with internal & external teams to ensure alignment of
  • Work directly within the development team and stakeholders to help with existing requirements, adhere to timelines, and meet deliverables.
  • Learn and apply the knowledge about TGCS product offerings and how clients use
Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science with 5+ years' experience or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience developing in Java- based environment
  • 5+ years of Object-Oriented
  • Fluent English Language Speaking, Written
  • Experience executing within an "2" development
  • Experience interacting with relational and No-SQL databases
  • Modern web development experience, including application of HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, and various JS frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.JS
  • Demonstrated Knowledge of test and deployment platforms such as Jenkins, containers via Docker, Cucumber/Selenium, Azure, and Kubernetes.
  • Strong programming and analytical skills, problem determination and debugging, attention to detail, teamwork and excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient with tools for Toshiba work activities, software development, & release management
  • Proficiency with code versioning tools like Git, SVN,
  • Experience with Windows- and Linux-based operating systems, including software installation, light administration and simple scripting
  • Preferred Retail Domain Knowledge (store operations and POS concepts) and experience with retail POS devices.
