We are seeking a Software Configuration Engineer (f/m/d) for our Salzgitter location as soon as possible. This position is available on a full-time basis.
Your role at Alstom - What you can achieve with us
2,000 colleagues work in Salzgitter every day on climate-friendly mobility. They develop and manufacture hydrogen and electric multiple units, locomotives, and trams, manufacture bogies, and repair all types of freight wagons. The Corporate Functions play a key role in supporting and continuously expanding the performance of our sites. In this role, you will report to the Train System Domain Leader and work in a motivated and dedicated team.
Take on a new challenge and apply your expertise in a new, future-oriented field. You will become part of the development team in Salzgitter and work with passionate, motivated, and dedicated colleagues.
The complex functions of our vehicles require software for a variety of systems. Your job is to create the software configuration for the vehicle and implement changes based on specifications from the Train Performance Manager.
Your tasks:
• Coordination of the software configuration with the Train Performance Manager
• Creation of the configuration in IBM ClearCase (Base CC)
• Application of the rules defined in the Change and Configuration Management Plan (CCP)
• Compilation of the software and documents (release notes, reports) for handover to the customer

• Bachelor of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• 1 year of experience in the railway industry, e.g., as a systems engineer
• Experience in configuration management
• Confident use of MS Office programs and IBM ClearCase
• Good communication skills
• Enjoyment of working independently and conscientiously
• Fluent in German and English
