Job Responsibilities: 

Magna is seeking a Senior Robotic Systems Engineer to join the New Mobility group in Lowell, Massachusetts. The Sr. Systems Engineer is responsible for defining requirements for Complementary Products on robotic platforms. The Complementary Product portfolio will consist of various add-ons designed to enhance capabilities and expand operations or features on our Autonomous Mobile Robot. The candidate will lead efforts for architecture exploration and design, and flow down of requirements to subsystems. They will work with both Hardware and Software teams to ensure that requirements are met, and architectures are successfully implemented between Autonomous Mobile Robot platforms and factory assembly lines.  #LI-hybrid

Your Responsibilities

Transform customer requirements into system level requirements leading to engineering specification documents. 

Generate, analyze, and present potential architectures for AMR “top hats”: carts, lifters, conveyors, to interface between robotic platform and factory lines. 

Develop test plans for subsystems and assist the engineering team in creating those subsystems, along with supporting test team to ensure plans align with requirements. 

Facilitate the larger team to evaluate internal and external engineering design change requests. 

Interface with customers at site to help inspire requirements and architectural designs. 

Present and review architectures with stakeholders (customers, product management, project leads). 

Who we are looking for


Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent Experience in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or similar technical field

Minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering

Experience in Robotics or Factory Automation systems engineering preferred 

Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects; requires good time management and organizational skills to meet stringent deadlines. 

Experience using requirements management (Doors, Jama, etc) and issue management (Jira, Confluence) tools 

Hybrid in-office policy: at least 3 days in office per week. 

Travel up to 25%
