Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to be based in our New York Metro office to support our Building and Places group that is focused on Transportation projects.

The Senior Structural Engineer will be responsible for the following items:

  • Serve as a Senior technical resource and may serve as technical advisor for team.

  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.

  • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.

  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.

  • Lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer, and lead design efforts with limited support required from senior staff for the delivery of larger and high complexity projects.

  • Work closely with a team of engineers to provide project direction, engineering solutions and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes.

  • Provide project management, engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of structural systems in buildings and structures.

  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.

  • Prepares technical specification sections.

  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering or related discipline plus six (6) years of related experience in structural design of buildings and structures or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education.

  • PE License in the state of New York or New Jersey.

  • ETABS, SAP, SAFE & AutoCAD.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experienced in structural analysis modeling and design using finite element analysis method.

  • Experience working with transit authorities; Amtrak, MTA, and PANYNJ.

  • Specific software experience in RAM Structural, and TEDDS, Mathcad, Specs Intact, spColumn, spBeam, spWall, Enercalc.

  • MicroStation & Revit experience are highly desirable.

  • Masters in Structural Engineering with 12 years of experience.

Additional Information

  • This position does not support relocation assistance.

  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $125000 to $170000.
