We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join Stannah, based at Watt Close, Andover.

This job will involve designing, writing, testing, and delivering embedded software solutions for electromechanical devices and machines within the stairlift industry. Our projects span motion control, sensor algorithms, board-level communications, and safety-critical software. You will play a hands-on leadership role, collaborating with engineering teams to develop new products and enhance existing ones.

As the Senior Software Engineer, you will work Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:45 and Friday 08:00 to 13:00. This job is a permanent contract.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced embedded software engineer who thrives in a collaborative, technically challenging environment. If you're passionate about electromechanical systems, continuous improvement, and delivering high-quality code, this role is for you.

To be successful as the Senior Software Engineer, it is essential that you have previous experience in embedded C or C++ with a solid background in developing software for microcontrollers. Experience in motor control systems, system architecture, and mentoring junior engineers would be desirable.

Senior Software Engineer Responsibilities:

Design and develop embedded software for electromechanical products

Collaborate with mechanical, electronic, and test teams to deliver integrated solutions

Support new product development and legacy upgrades

Lead code reviews, mentor team members, and ensure adherence to software standards

Interact with cross-functional teams, including marketing and production, when needed

Senior Software Engineer Requirements:

Strong experience with embedded C/C++ and microcontroller development

Solid understanding of electromechanical systems and motor control

Ability to define requirements and develop software/system architecture

Experience mentoring or leading technical teams

Familiarity with development tools, standards, and version control systems
