How will your ideas contribute to shaping what’s next?

As our Senior Primary Electrical Engineer, you’ll be a vital part of the Power Transmission & Distribution team in Western Australia who are working to ensure client wind projects are delivered with confidence and the commitment of the Aurecon team.

Your role will include:

Prepare primary electrical designs including layout drawings, schematics, and equipment specifications for substations and transmission assets.

Support the development of high-voltage substation designs (AIS and GIS) from concept through to detailed design stages.

Assist with the selection and specification of primary plant equipment such as power transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors, and instrument transformers, including the development of technical specifications.

Perform technical calculations and studies related to clearances, insulation coordination, and earthing design.

Coordinate with civil, structural, and secondary systems teams to ensure integrated and accurate designs ad project deliverables.

Ensure designs meet relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, AS/NZS) and client-specific requirements such as transmission specifications.

To apply you will have experience as a Primary HV Engineer, and will specifically bring:

Experience in primary electrical design for high-voltage (HV) substations and/or transmission lines.

Capability in developing and reviewing layout drawings, electrical schematics, equipment specifications, and design reports.

Exposure working within multidisciplinary design teams and coordinating with secondary systems and civil/structural engineers.

Understanding of relevant standards and guidelines such as IEC, IEEE, and AS/NZS for power system design, and substation designs.
