Senior Landscape Architect

Perth Airport, Western Australia, Australia

Description

Job Description

The Practice
ASPECT Studios is a purpose orientated, design led landscape architecture and urban design practice. With operations across Australia, Asia, the UK, and the Middle East, our studios believe in the power of design to positively change people’s behavior and lives, the environment, and the planet.

Perth Studio
Our studio space is centrally located at the heart of the CBD, on the banks of the Derber Yerigan in the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Nogar people. We offer a highly collaborative environment with opportunities for hands-on mentorship and learning. Our team believes in the importance of creating a studio environment where an openness to new ideas and collaboration sits in partnership with deep knowledge and expertise.

Together we create a fun, down-to-earth and diverse workplace culture, with regular group outings and activities (think wellness walks, Friday drinks, afternoon teas, and learning/networking events).

The Role
We’re looking for a passionate, confident designer and project leader who can deliver outstanding landscape and urban design work from concept to construction.

As a Senior Landscape Architect, you’ll contribute to a diverse range of exciting projects - local civic, university, hospital, and destination play spaces, as well as international competitions, master planning and public realm projects.

In this role you’ll:

  • Lead the design and documentation of landscape architecture projects from concept through to construction,
  • Coordinate and manage project deliverables including base analysis, site planning, design development, construction documentation, and tender packages,
  • Present to clients and stakeholders with clarity and confidence,
  • Supervise and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative learning culture in our tight-knit studio,
  • Work across a variety of project scales — from strategic master plans to detailed construction packages,
  • Engage with contractors, consultants and suppliers, building strong and lasting industry relationships as you go,
  • Stay informed about emerging design trends and innovations, sustainability practices, and industry standards.

We’re looking for someone who loves what they do, both in their design work and in their contributions to team and studio culture. You’ll be managing a variety of projects at different stages, travelling locally and regionally to site, and interacting with diverse project collaborators – strong project management, time management, collaboration, and communication will be key.

The successful person will have:

  • Degree qualification(s) in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Architecture or equivalent,
  • 5+ years of experience in professional design practice,
  • Ability to demonstrate strong design thinking and technical expertise across all project stages,
  • Proficiency in design software such as REVIT (critical), Vectorworks, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite,
  • Exceptional visual communication and problem-solving skills,
  • Strong knowledge of sustainability in design and construction,
  • A passion for designing inclusive, sustainable places.

Our studios are deeply collaborative and united by values that put people, culture and ecology at the center of everything we do. We offer a flexible, inclusive work environment, ongoing learning and development, and the opportunity to work on iconic local and international projects.

  • Additional two weeks of annual leave through our Purchased Leave Initiative,
  • Access to generous company paid Parental Leave benefits after 6 months,
  • MAPS Days – four paid days a year to grow your skills and knowledge,
  • Professional membership support following probation – reimbursement of fees for industry memberships,
  • Strong learning and mentoring culture, and more.
