Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical power systems for data centers, including:

Medium and low voltage distribution systems

UPS systems, battery systems, and generators

Power distribution units (PDUs), switchgear, and busways

Grounding, bonding, and lightning protection systems

  • Develop single-line diagrams, layouts, load calculations, and technical specifications.

  • Perform power system studies such as short circuit, load flow, coordination, and arc flash (as required).

  • Optimize designs for reliability, redundancy (Tier I–IV), scalability, and energy efficiency.

International Codes & Standards

  • Ensure designs comply with international and local electrical codes and standards, including but not limited to:

IEC, IEEE, NFPA, NEC

Uptime Institute, TIA-942, EN standards

  • Adapt designs to regional regulations, utility requirements, and climatic conditions.

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, civil, architectural, IT, and controls).

  • Interface with clients, consultants, vendors, and utility providers across different countries.

  • Support technical reviews, design workshops, and value engineering sessions.

Documentation & Deliverables

Prepare and review design reports, calculations and drawing.

Person Specifications and Qualifications: Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (master’s degree preferred).

Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in electrical design, with significant exposure to data center or mission-critical facilities.

  • Experience working on international or multi-regional projects is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of data center electrical infrastructure.

  • Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, or similar software.

  • Understanding of Tier classifications and redundancy concepts.

  • Familiarity with renewable integration, energy efficiency, and sustainability practices is a plus.
