Senior Civil Engineer – Water Sector

GHD is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our growing UK Water team. This is a technically focused role, ideal for someone passionate about delivering innovative solutions across water treatment, wastewater treatment, and clean water infrastructure projects.

About the Role

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the planning, design, and delivery of complex water sector projects. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, support junior engineers, and contribute to the development of sustainable and resilient water systems.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and contribute to the design and delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects.

Conduct feasibility studies, data analysis, and technical assessments.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project success.

Support project management activities including planning, budgeting, and reporting.

Drive innovation and continuous improvement in engineering processes and solutions.

What You Bring

A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

Proven experience (3–6 years) in the water sector, particularly in treatment works.

Strong technical skills in civil design and analysis.

Familiarity with UK water industry standards and regulations.

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

A proactive, collaborative, and accountable approach to work.
