Description

Manufacturing Process Engineer responsibilities include:

- Review and provide feedback on design/design intent of components and assemblies.

- Set standard manufacturing practices and independently determine impact to design and parameters to the final product. 

- Partner with internal and external cross functional teams to evaluate design and processes at concept phase and set expectations for manufacturing processes.

- Develop new and/or improved processes for parts and assemblies through the application of theoretical and practical engineering. 

- Drive corrective actions cross-functionally with internal and external team members.

- Drive design experiments to prove out manufacturing processes or design iterations.

- Design for Manufacturability - Provide early and on going manufacturing involvement to ensure new products are mechanically manufacturable. 

- Process Engineering - Design and develop technically complex processes to improve quality and efficiency

- Present technical issues and updates to Apple management team and cross functional team on a frequent basis

- Provide creative solutions for engineering challenges or issues related to assembly process

- International travel to supplier sites, up to 30%

Minimum Qualifications

3+ years' experience in process development/bring up and qualification

BS (MS preferred) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

Program/project management experience

Manufacturing or supplier management experience

Working knowledge of GD&T and Engineering Drawing Interpretation

Design of Experiments, statistical process control methods and theory

Good command of Excel and JMP

Knowledge of Metrology design and Optical/Contact Measurement Equipment is preferred

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Mandarin or Korean language skills are a plus but not required

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $128,400 and $193,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
