Program Summary 

A Co-Op position at Heraeus Medevio offers students an 8-month (May 2027-December 2027) hands-on, immersive, and project-based experience in R&D and Operations engineering fields. Engineering Co-Ops work under the guidance of experienced engineers to contribute to real-world projects in areas like design, testing, manufacturing, or product development. Co-Ops can expect to work on medical device innovations while receiving professional mentorship and industry exposure. This will be an on-site position in our White Bear Lake, MN location. Occasional travel to the Fridley, MN location may be needed. 

Position Summary 

The Manufacturing Engineer Co-op will gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of production and process improvement. Projects could include supporting tooling design, conducting root cause analysis, implementing preventative actions, and driving scrap and yield reduction projects. This role offers exposure to diverse manufacturing challenges and opportunities to contribute to efficiency and quality initiatives. 

What You’ll Do Every Day: 

• Provide general support to process and tooling improvements on new and existing products to improve capability, repeatability, quality, and cost using LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Assist in new equipment identification, procurement, installation qualification, document creation, and training to improve and expand capacity and capability at Medevio.
• Support partnering with various cross-functional groups to effectively scale new and existing processes such as coil winding, laser welding, ablation, stamping, machining, and other various advanced assemblies to meet customer expected volumes.
• Supporting operations and quality teams working through product quality nonconformances, investigations, root cause analysis, data analysis and trending, and customer correlation activities.
• Participate in other operations and manufacturing team meetings and activities.
• Respond to changing priorities in a timely manner.
• Other duties assigned as required. 

What We’re Looking For: 

• Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineer, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or comparable Engineering program.
• Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
• Ability to work full-time onsite during the duration of the co-op.
• Strong analytical skills, specifically utilizing excel.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
• Driven to learn more about real-world application of academic engineering concepts. 

Medevio is committed to providing competitive total compensation and benefits packages. The expected hiring range for this position is between $20.00/hr and $26.00/hr. based upon a full-time schedule. This is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. Base salaries are determined by taking a variety of factors in account, including, but not limited to, candidate qualifications, geographic locations, market conditions and internal equity. This position is bonus eligible. Our total compensation package for interns and co-ops may also include eligibility for a 401(k) plan with company match and paid time off.
