The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to join the Phantom Works team located in Colorado Springs, CO.  This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

Boeing’s Phantom Works organization is looking to fill a software engineering position to create complex command and control systems for the nations’ missile defense system of systems. Missile Defense programs are part of the Ballistic Missile Defense System which defends the United States homeland and its regional allies all over the world.  Be a part of our passionate and highly-motivated team who are excited to be on the forefront of defense of our nation.

Phantom Works is an advanced development organization that supports programs across the entire portfolio of Boeing products. The BMDS Team is a collective government and industry partnership to architect and implement next generation missile defense. C2BMC is a large, distributed, command and control system instantiated by software. The selected candidates will join a team developing next generation command and control capabilities using modern Dev-Sec-Ops principles and applying it to tasks like sensor data integration, command decision automation, and fire control support.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Position Responsibilities:

Candidates will develop software as part of IPTs (integrated product teams). Tasking will be governed via an Agile process with daily scrums. Software development may involve modelling of complex systems like Radars or missiles, integration of complex sensor data, algorithms for advanced planning and fire control, messaging interface management for inter-system communication, and software system infrastructure development and deployment. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

This position requires an active Top-Secret clearance

3 + years programming experience in JavaScript

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

Experience developing in Agile environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in computer science, engineering (such as computer engineering, electrical engineering), engineering technology with a strong software engineering background, chemistry, physics, mathematics, or data science.

Experience with DevSecOps development/CI pipelines using containers and automated deployment (for example Docker containers, Kubernetes)

Experience with React

Experience with Node.js

Experience with C#

Experience with SQL

Experience with Missile Defense applications

Experience with Command-and-Control Application development

Summary pay range for Experienced:  $101,700.00 - $144,900.00

Export Control Requirements: This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
