Who are we looking for? 

We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering Design Organization! This is an excellent opportunity for you to jump into your Engineering career by working on a variety of electrical power generation, distribution and utilization system projects. 

In this role, you’ll collaborate with experienced engineers and gain hands-on experience performing design calculations, creating sketches, and preparing technical comparisons. You’ll assist with reviewing and editing project specifications, developing designs and drawings, and preparing portions of project documents. Your work will also include researching codes and regulatory requirements, exploring design options, and documenting findings for Project Engineers and Job Managers. Additionally, you’ll respond to contractor inquiries, prepare alternate designs under guidance, and contribute to the analysis and retrofit design of new and existing utilities.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: 

Monitor Construction Works: Help monitor and oversee the delivery of works to ensure that construction, maintenance, or improvement works are delivered in accordance with quality, cost, and time requirements.

Data Collection and Analysis: Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.

Engineering Drawings: Create engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions.

Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to the development of, and implement feasibility testing of, proposed engineering solutions to provide feedback and data to validate the design.

Engineering Standards Specification: Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the drafting of engineering standards and specifications and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards.

Technical Developments Recommendation: Research and suggest technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users’ needs.

Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

Testing: Use product specifications to design test procedures and standards.

Research: Carry out a range of research activities either to support others or to fulfill the requirements of the role.

Technical Troubleshooting: Support technical troubleshooting efforts, aiding in the quick and accurate identification, analysis, and resolution of technical issues with equipment and experiments.

Project Management: Support others by carrying out a range of project management activities.

Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.

What you will bring to the team: 

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or Structural Engineering; master’s degree is a plus 

Engineering In Training (EIT) certification preferred 

0-2 years of structural engineering experience; internship experience is a plus 

Working knowledge of AutoCAD; Revit knowledge a plus 

Knowledge of modeling and design software as applicable 

Salary Range: $71,000-$73,000 based on experience.
