As a facilities electrical engineer, you will work on projects that enable the heart of our client’s semiconductor-based manufacturing. You and other team members will work closely with client owners in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. In this role you will collaborate with on-site personnel to support projects of varying size and complexity including assessment of systems, consulting system owners and analyzing scope requests from stakeholders.

As an Electrical Engineering Professional, you will be responsible for interacting with the client, contractors, and site personnel in Wilton, Connecticut. Your job includes designing, developing, evaluating, and preparing recommendations with basis of design (BOD), scope of work (SOW) documents, in addition to design, construction and specifications documents through the positional (programming) process with a team. You will also oversee engineering and construction for the facility power distributions system work (up to 13.8kV), grounding, lighting, emergency and standby generation systems, life safety systems, and fire alarm and detection systems.  The work will include retrofits of existing building systems as well as new systems.

Here's what you'll need

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar from an ABET accredited university

At least 10 years of experience in engineering design of building electrical systems, including distribution to end use

Solid knowledge and application of the electrical requirements per NFPA 70, 70E, 72, 101, 110, building codes, energy codes, and other related standards, such as IEEE and ASHRAE standards 

Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and leadership experience

Solid knowledge in practice and procedures for specifications and selection of all types of electrical equipment and hardware

Working knowledge of PLC, DCS, and other controls applications

Experience reviewing vendor submittal packages against client requirements and specifications

Field experience interacting with subcontractors and construction personnel

Ideally, you’ll also have: 

EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure

5 years of experience as a facility engineer

Working knowledge of Instrumentation & Controls design-related deliverables such as P&IDs, I/O lists, wiring diagrams, control narratives, etc.

Experience with control panel design, including UL508A requirements

Proficient working knowledge of electrical modeling software, such as SKM Power Tools (PTW), ETap, Easy Power

Proficient working knowledge of design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit or BIM360 

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas 

Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams 

Passionate about buildings and construction

This is an on-site position requiring work to be performed on the client site in Wilton, CT.  RELOCATION AVAILABLE.  SIGN-ON BONUS!!!

Candidate must be willing to commute to the site Monday-Friday during normal business hours – nominally 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with some flexibility based on ability of site to support and employee preference.

Physical Requirements:

Position requires field visits and walks at an active client site in various stages of construction.  Applicant must be able to walk long distances, sit and stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, crawl, climb ladders, work on catwalks, work in small spaces, lift and carry up to 25lbs.

The base salary range for this position is $125,000.00 to $175,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
