KierBAM are a Joint Venture (KBJV) partnership between Kier and Bam Nuttall.  We are currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and we are seeking a Electrical Engineer

Due to the site being a high Security Military Naval base, additional security checks will need to be made – BPSS level of security clearance is required. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to process. Only candidates holding EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports and have been a UK residence for the last 5 years can be considered for this role.

Responsibilities of a Electrical Engineer

As a Electrical Engineer you'll be working within the Devonport Nuclearteam, supporting them in ensuring all works are procured, planned, and carried out safely in accordance with project requirements and UK law.

Your day to day will include:

  • Ensure all works are procured, planned, and carried out safely in accordance with project requirements and UK law.
  • Manage the successful completion of the project/area under control in line with agreed quality and commercial plans to achieve targets within agreed timescales and cost constraints. Ensure the design and installation meets internal and client specifications and statutory requirements as a minimum.
  • Provide leadership for the project team members within your area of control, setting clear expectations, offering guidance and feedback to maximise the performance of the team and ensure objectives are met, managing performance accordingly.
  • Contribute to the identification of projects risks and opportunities, supporting project team members, providing suggestions, taking responsibility for the mitigation or enhancement of those within your area of control.
  • Understands relevant budgets, commercial priorities and their implications, in relation to job role. Ability to make sound decisions, based on clear criteria and Manages own workload in line with project goals and priorities.

What are we looking for?

This role of Electrical Engineer is great for you if:

  • Civil Engineering related Qualification (HNC, BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng).
  • Experience with electrical equipment procurement and vendor management.
  • Experience of similar role, preferred in relevant sector (ie Nuclear and Defence)
  • CSCS - White PQP/AQP
