Job Description

We are currently looking to fill the position of a Civil Engineering Technology Intern to join our team in the Brampton office in Ontario. We are looking for students who are willing to work in the office environment and willing to learn and enhance their skills to be ready for the next level with diversity, innovation and environmental stewardship. 

This position will allow students to develop and apply their knowledge in civil engineering technology and became the future leaders. The candidates will gain valuable experience and work with experienced engineers and technologists who will provide them guidance and mentoring. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Working Linear Infrastructure design in water and wastewater including wastewater collection systems, water distribution, infrastructure development, CAD design, plans and profiles, construction details, design calculations, engineering quantities take-off and specifications. 

Use the application of engineering principles to provide efficient, effective, economical solutions and resolve problems.

Working under the guidance of senior engineers and applying standard engineering principals, techniques and procedures, using engineering judgment in making modifications to the design. 

Qualifications: 

Must be currently enrolled in and pursuing a technology program in Civil Technology diploma.

Minimum of a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Candidates with previous internship or co-op experience is an asset. 

Experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation is preferred. 

Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

Aptitude for working in an office and construction field environment.

A desire to learn and continually develop.

Perform assignments related water/wastewater Infrastructure 

Assist with preparation of design for linear projects 

Support preparation of drawings, schedule and specifications 

Coordination with other technicians/engineers and sub-consultants

Provide support to Senior Engineers and Designers

Work on proposals, presentations and other related work with engineering
