Your impact

Jacobs is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join our Airports/ Aviation Facilities team in Jacksonville or Tampa, FL, working on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients' challenges locally and worldwide.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our team and be involved in large-scale airport infrastructure projects and utilize your civil engineering expertise. You will solve a range of complex problems and analyze possible solutions using standard procedures.

Project opportunities are primarily airport-related, including but not limited to aviation related facilities including Taxiways, Runways, Aprons, Airfield systems, access control, and the design and construction of aviation infrastructure. You'll work with the best Engineers and Project Managers in the business, as well as gain experience working directly with our clients. We want you to be empowered to deliver the boldest solutions for modern aviation infrastructure.

As an Engineering Intern at Jacobs, your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of critical tasks in airport design and development. You will assist in the design of airfield pavements, including runways, taxiways, and aprons, as well as support the development of airport terminal area plans and landside facilities. Your role will involve contributing to the preparation of technical reports and design documentation for aviation projects, ensuring comprehensive and accurate project records. Additionally, you will participate in site visits to assess existing airport conditions and collect essential data for project planning. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, and practical field experience to effectively contribute to the enhancement of airport infrastructure.

Here's what you'll need

In pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited program.

Must be at least a rising Junior

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, pptx)

Ideally, you’ll also have: 

3.0 GPA

The base salary range for this position is $40,000.00 to $60,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
