Boeing India Engineering and Technology Centre is currently looking for Associate Quality Engineer to join their Manufacturing Engineering team in Bangalore, India. As a Quality Engineer, you will be part of a global team working on providing ME solutions to a wide range of Boeing products and services across the world. These positions will focus on supporting the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) business organization.

A successful candidate will implement the preparation of installation plans, author assembly work instructions and drive process standardization for electrical wire harness products. The role would focus on working closely with global teams to ensure the assembly work instructions are defined most efficiently thereby ensuring the best value for our customers. This position also offers opportunities to be part of integrated project teams on the manufacturability and producibility of wiring design definitions. Position Responsibilities:

  • Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality

  • Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes

  • and documentation.

  • Participates in and organizes various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.

  • Facilitates collaboration among a variety of stakeholders to secure buy-in on Quality Inspection enhancements and initiatives

  • Provides Quality interpretation of requirements.

  • Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances.

  • Lead special projects aimed at improving product quality, with a focus on innovative solutions and best practices.

  • Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities.

  • Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.

  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.

  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.

  • Creates Installation plan in CAPP/CMES.

  • Assists in developing manufacturing concepts and strategies to support business objectives.

  • Assists in developing and integrating suppliers, processes, materials, data, and technology to meet manufacturing and Quality delivery requirements.

  • Investigates and resolves manufacturing &Quality related issues.

  • Supports in carrying out DFM and producibility studies of installation and routing of wire harness and electrical /electronic products.

  • Drafts, updates, and reviews processes and procedures to support business and regulatory agency requirements.

  • Understanding of developing work instructions for installing wire harnesses and components in panels and other commodities & assemblies.

  • Reviews the testing and inspection plans for wire harnesses, systems, Fuselage, structures &electrical systems for continuity and proper functioning with process, tools, specs & methods

  • Implement the process audits for the prevailing Installation/fabrication plans & ensure they meet the defined standards.

  • Assists in implementation of safety procedures, Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention and non-conformances issues with wire harness manufacturing or related commodities

  • Identifies production inefficiencies and suggests potential improvements to product or process.

  • Interprets wire harness design definitions and routing

  • Assists in implementing lean principles and technologies.

  • Exercises critical thinking and innovative problem solving.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Engineering Technology (Including Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Information Technology), Computer Science or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.

  • 3+ years of work experience in aerospace wire harness design, installation and routing,

  • 1+ year of experience involved with quality engineering

  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

  • Knowledge of Electrical Harness design software (2D/3D)

  • Demonstrated experience in translating the specifications and making requirement decisions into a simplified work instruction.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with Boeing products/Commercial aircraft platforms is highly desirable.

  • Having electrical manufacturing engineering experience is desirable.

  • Experience in translating the specs to make requirements decision & thereby creating Quality standards is highly desirable

Typical Education & Experience:

  • Education/experience typically acquired through a bachelor’s in engineering (Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Aerospace) and typically 5 to 8 years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. master’s in engineering + 4 years' related work experience).
