Exclusive agreement offers unprecedented sharing of 3-D models between general contractors and subcontractors to reduce errors and time during bidding process

Assemble Systems and iSqFt announced that they have agreed to a strategic partnership that will integrate their respective commercial construction solutions to allow for the sharing of Building Information Models (BIM). As BIM adoption continues to expand in the construction industry, this integration allows both companies to continue to be at the forefront of the market transformation.

iSqFt, a leading software-as-a-service company, serving the commercial construction industry, continues to enhance its offerings for customers through a strong technology platform focused on innovation. The strategic integration of iSqFt’s solutions with Assemble Systems provides unique project visibility for its network of more than 750,000 construction professionals and reaffirms the companies as leaders in the construction industry.

“This product delivers the information and speed contractors need in order to make working with models viable from preconstruction through bidding,” says Dave Conway, CEO, iSqFt. “Assemble is an important and valued iSqFt partner and through working closely together, we will deliver useful, browser based, BIM tools to the AEC community. In addition, this proprietary relationship sets the foundation necessary to utilize data in new ways to drive efficacy throughout the project life-cycle.”

Assemble Systems’ easy-to-use, cloud-based model-data-management solution enables AEC firms to leverage BIM data for increased project insight, advanced project  collaboration and data-driven decision-making. Users can easily access and condition object properties, identify visual variance and execute conceptual estimating, ultimately increasing productivity, efficiency and accuracy.

“We are excited to partner with iSqFt to bring BIM and model data to the bid management process,” says Howard Davis, CEO, Assemble Systems. “Through our partnership, general contractors and subcontractors will have access to a significantly improved process for communicating project scope during the construction planning phase to reduce cost and schedule issues that negatively impact project results.”

The integrated data-management platform allows general contractors to share a project’s BIM model with their subcontractors, along with 2-D plans and specifications, directly in the iSqFt interface. Also, general contractors can choose which components of the model they wish to share with subcontractors, based on building location and/or component. In the past, only a few subcontractors have had access to this type of technology in the bid stage, but through this exclusive partnership, BIM related information will be widely accessible. Additionally, the interface is intuitive and accessible for AEC professionals who may not have technical knowledge of expensive design tools.

“The integration of Assemble Systems and iSqFt allows subcontractors to visualize the construction project in all of its complexities,” said Raul Gomez, director of virtual design & construction at Robins & Morton. “Presenting details visually through Assemble Systems provides a realistic representation that will do wonders for all subcontractors in understanding the project at hand.”
