Philips and PSV innovate together to meet the stringent requirements from broadcasters and sports federations worldwide.

Philips Stadion, the home of PSV Eindhoven, is the first stadium in the Netherlands to be fully equipped with ArenaVision LED pitch lighting from Royal Philips, the global leader in lighting, meeting the strict requirements of international sports federations and broadcasters.

This innovative LED lighting makes it possible for Philips Stadion to highlight specific parts of the pitch during a football match or a concert, and to also transmit the smallest of gestures on the pitch to the thousands of people in the stadium as well as all those watching at home. Philips Stadion also benefits from maintenance and other operational cost savings, positively impacting on the daily running costs of the stadium.

Frank van der Vloed, General Manager of Philips Lighting Benelux says, "We are proud that we have illuminated Philips Stadion, and that it is the first stadium in the Netherlands to benefit from ArenaVision LED pitch lighting. The viewing experience in the stadium will be more dynamic, the light quality significantly increased, and the stringent requirements of European TV channels met. This will allow the fans in the stadium and at home to experience the atmosphere at optimal level. Through this investment in Philips Stadion, we have substantiated our ambition to innovate in the field of stadium lighting and health. "

Toon Gerbrands, General Manager of PSV says, "We are very pleased that we are the first football club in the Netherlands to be equipped with ArenaVision LED pitch lighting. It delivers high quality light that will add to the excitement of a football match for our loyal fans. This innovative lighting perfectly matches our ambitions for PSV to compete both nationally and internationally at the highest level. "

Philips is responsible for more than 60 years of professional lighting for major sporting events. Last year Philips, amongst others, was responsible for lighting nine of the twelve official game stations of the World Cup in Brazil.
