FXFOWL Architects announced that they are designing a new building in Baku.

FXFOWL Architects announced that they are designing a new, 31-story mixed-use office tower for the Ministry of Taxation and Finances in Baku, Azerbaijan. The tower comprises five cube forms of varying size resting on a podium base that houses a 400-seat auditorium, a boardroom, a cafeteria, and a 60-foot tall winter garden atrium space.

Each element of the building is separated by green space–bringing the outdoors inside. Optimizing solar orientation and views, the geometric forms gradually rotate a total of 40 degrees from the base to the top. The 490,000-square-foot tower also includes offices, a formal restaurant, and private one- and two bedroom suites for visiting dignitaries. The tower is topped with a spectacular rooftop garden affording dramatic views of the old city of Baku.
