Centrum Černý Most in Prague, Czech Republic has won the 2014 International Council of Shopping Centres European Award for Refurbishments and/or Expansion.

Benoy, the international firm of Architects, Masterplanners, Interior and Graphic Designers, is thrilled to announce that Centrum Černý Most in Prague, Czech Republic has won the 2014 International Council of Shopping Centres European Award for Refurbishments and/or Expansion.

Just as in 1997 when Centrum Černý Most became the first retail mall in the Czech Republic, the new and improved Centrum Černý Most is once again a popular destination in Prague. The stunning development offers increased premium retail and services.

Configured in a ‘classic figure of eight’ shaped layout, its interior plan complements iconic storefronts, designer furniture and an outstanding lighting scheme. Its exterior presents an original and distinctive interactive façade and attractive landscaping.

Benoy Director and Head of Europe, Robert Bishop, was delighted with the award calling the announcement, ‘an honour to be recognised.’ Robert went on to say, ‘as Centrum Černý Most was already a highly acclaimed shopping centre, the renovation required an extremely imaginative and original design which would build on the popularity of the Prague centre. The team has responded with an outstanding response to a demanding brief.’

Centrum Černý Most has also been awarded the first BREEAM ‘Very Good’ building, in the Retail Category in Prague.
